The Department of Music at Washington College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Music History at the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include teaching a two-semester history survey for majors, offering electives in the candidate's area(s) of expertise, directing appropriate student ensembles (e.g., Concert Band, Chamber Ensembles, Early Music Consort and/or Jazz Ensemble) and teaching instrumental lessons (woodwind or brass).
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. by the beginning of the appointment, a successful record of teaching and the potential for outstanding scholarship. The candidate should be an accomplished performer, have experience working with both majors and non-majors, and demonstrate a strong commitment to liberal arts education. It is desirable that candidates have experience conducting/coaching ensembles and developing curriculum.
Washington College is a competitive, four-year liberal arts college located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay. Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia are within 90 minutes of the College. The Music Department is housed in the newly renovated and expanded Daniel Z. Gibson Center for the Arts, completed in fall 2009.

Washington College is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Registrar.
Responsibilities: This position manages and coordinates the collection, entry, retrieval and sharing of data as directed by the Registrar, and acts as liaison with internal offices for information sharing. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all student and faculty records and has a major role in the production of the course schedule each semester. Works with Assistant Provost for Institutional Research and Assessment on projects requiring student records data. Responsible for providing reports to internal offices on an ad hoc basis.
The Assistant Registrar also periodically reviews office procedures, reports problems and makes recommendations for change to the Registrar. The Assistant Registrar may assist students with course registration and other matters. The Assistant Registrar may assist with Commencement and Convocation.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of professional experience. Experience in a higher education setting or other customer/client service-oriented setting. Experience in data management, information sharing and reporting. Proficiency with MS-Word and Excel. Preferred experience includes knowledge of Datatel Colleague or similar student records administrative software.
Salary Range: $29,850 - $33,000

Must be proficient in following sanitation guidelines and conduct them selves in a professional manner. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have working knowledge products. Must be able to work well with others and exhibit friendly customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School degree or in process of earning High School degree. Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred. Must be able to bend and lift heavy products. Must be able to work long hours, while standing. Ability to multi-task. Must be able to work with knives and meat slicer.

The Department of Education at Washington College invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Field Experiences (Secondary School) and Lecturer in the Education Department.
Responsibilities: Include overseeing the school placements and teaching performance of students in the secondary teacher certification program, teaching the equivalent of one four-credit course per semester, assisting the Professor of Secondary Education during the Education Block semester, and serving as the College liaison with secondary Professional Development Schools.
Qualifications: MA in education or related field; knowledge of educational theory, research, and practice; significant teaching experience at the secondary level; ability to work with public school districts in collaborative endeavors; knowledge of the culture and intellectual environment of a liberal arts college.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director of Human Resources is the chief administrative officer for Human Resources at Washington College. As such, the individual must be knowledgeable of State and Federal laws and best practices within the field of human resources and provide guidance in these matters to all levels of management. The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of the College's human resources policies and programs and other areas as may be assigned.
Specific responsibilities include: oversight of employment and compensation programs; employee relations to include new employee orientation, routine communications, employee recognition, and exit interviews; administration of the College's staff performance management program through development, administration, and assessment; supervisor training; annual performance appraisal program; counseling and advising; discipline and discharge; oversees the administration of the College's grievance procedures for discrimination and harassment claims; ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g. wage and hour, FERPA, HIPAA, EEO, etc.).
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or similar field (master's degree or advanced professional certification in human resources preferred); six to ten years of previous experience with the administration of a human resources program with broad experience in employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, training and development (preferably at a similarly sized organization within a higher education setting); demonstrated mastery of a major HRIS, preferably Datatel's Enterprise Education Platform; and active affiliation with CUPA-HR, SHRM, or other appropriate human resources networks and organizations is preferred.
Compensation is very competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
