A Note from the Director of Human Resources
Welcome to Washington College. Before beginning your work assignment, you will need to complete some tasks. You will want to carefully review the information provided to you about your work and benefits at the College. I hope you will find your work with the College to be a rewarding experience.

Getting Started—Tasks
Complete paperwork to be placed on the payroll:
- Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9 form): Under federal law, you must complete this form in person in order to verify your eligibility to work in the United States. You will need to provide a legal photo ID and Social Security card or birth certificate, or a passport. Other forms of ID may also be accepted.
- Tax withholding forms (federal W-4, state tax withholding form: These forms need to be signed; you must also supply your Social Security number.
- Authorization agreement for direct deposit: This form signs you up for direct deposit of your paycheck. You will also need to supply a blank check or preprinted bank deposit slip that shows your routing and bank account numbers.
- Complete Personnel Information form and sign the Drug, Alcohol and Firearms Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, and Use of College Property Agreement.
You cannot be paid until this paperwork is done!
Proceed to Human Resources in 500 Washington Avenue.
- Meet with Human Resources to review and complete paperwork needed to enroll in benefits, if applicable. Human Resources, Bunting Hall, lower level.
- Establish telephone, voice-mail, e-mail and computer accounts with the Office of Information Technology, William Smith Hall, lower level, if applicable, after you have completed your payroll paperwork at Human Resources.
- You will need a Washington College ID card for access to many buildings on campus and for identification. After you have completed your payroll paperwork at Human Resources you can get your photo ID, parking permit and key to office, if applicable, at Public Safety, in Wicomico Hall, lower level.
